Matt Hajacos was the first musician I met and played with while in middle Tennessee. During the 7 years of me living there, the Vermicious K'Nids (Matt's brainchild band) kept popping in and out of my life. The K'Nids are an indie rock band influenced by The Flaming Lips, Danny Elfman, straight ahead rock and roll and christmas music. We started as a flimsy three piece with guitar, bell kit and drums. It grew to 6 piece with 2 drummers, bass, guitar, drums and keys. Amy Smith, on keys and bgv, and I split off to start Happy Birthday Amy. 3 years later, The K'Nids drummer was leaving the band so Matt called me up to rejoin the band. I continued to play with them till I left for Asheville in the spring of 2010 just after we recorded a record at Battle Tapes.
