Happy Birthday Amy was a progressive indie pop band fronted by the strong voiced, Amy Smith. Amy wrote the songs and Dillon Smith on bass and myself went crazy as hard driving rhythm section writing complicated but supportive parts under Amy's dark but playful melodies. With this band, I got my introduction into touring, sleeping on floors from Omaha to Chicago to Atlanta to Boston. Amy and Dillon fell in love during the start up of the band and later got married. I got to be in their beautiful wedding and watch their love grow from the backseat of a Dodge Caravan.
